Executive Level Recruitment Insights In Marketing from TheCandidateLtd

The latest research from The Candidate in partnership with the MPA represents an overview of Executive Level Recruitment Trends.

In this report, many key areas surrounding current Executive Level Recruitment Trends are considered. These aspects include the number of Executive Level roles that exist in industries, traits and skills needed, what recruiters are looking for, and how the roles are being filled in an internal and external context.

To collate top class information, we spoke to over 60 industry heads from across the North West where 57% were agency professionals and 43% were client side which resulted in extremely interesting and useful findings. For example, the majority of respondents (73%) stated that there were five or less executive level roles in marketing, media and creative functions within their organisation. Also, from a gender perspective, only 22% said that male and females occupy an even split of roles.

Furthermore, an interesting aspect specified by respondents when discussing the skills needed to progress was that areas such as professional qualifications (13%) and significant experience in a similar role (21%) were some of the least important factors.

The Candidate’s research has been carried out in partnership with The Manchester Publicity Association (MPA), which is led by Cindy Simmons (Managing Director). The MPA is the leading not-for-profit organisation representing the Creative Digital and Media industry within Greater Manchester. A number of excellent progressive case studies have also been included that discuss executive level recruitment trends further.

The Candidate’s Managing Director Brian Matthews also offered his thoughts “As digital continues to take its grip on businesses across the UK, there is an increasingly urgent demand for highly skilled executive level employees...”

Through the weeks spent collecting and analysing this information, The Candidate has learnt a lot about current executive level trends. Firstly, gender bias still exists. Moreover, many people are now being drawn towards an organisation on benefits other than basic salaries. Furthermore, it's good news for the North West, as many employees are making a conscious decision to recruit from inside the region.

We would be delighted if our report helps people understand the current trends in executive level recruitment, and that it has an influence on anyone thinking about a role as an Executive.
