This exciting new position is located in Manchester with a highly accessible office. If transport is a concern, this is made easy with numerous train stations situated very close to our client’s office and if you’re driving, the words ‘free parking’ will be music to your ears! The company is a self-proclaimed expert in niche problem solving which is the key to their unprecedented accomplishments. Our client is on the hunt for a curious, strong minded individual capable of working with and communicating with the partners to ensure maximum success and producing an experience with search performance that feels natural.

The successful candidate will be given the opportunity to utilise their experience and skills in Search Engine Optimisation and constantly push said skills to produce the excellent results that this highly established client expects. You will be expected to meet objectives throughout the year which not only solidifies a path of progression in your career but will also be met with staff recognition awards. Working with various teams of the company such as IT and Content and Social Media Executives will be imperative in securing that the social media, the site’s content and the blog are all geared to maximising our client’s exposure. 

Main responsibilities of the SEO Manager:

  • Comfortable in using various SEO software to keep tabs on website performance and recognise opportunities in improving the performance
  • Work closely with IT to ensure that any improvements needed regarding the content are done correctly
  • Work with the social media team of the company to ensure opportunities are identified regarding research of competitors and making improvements on the sites to make sure it is efficiently optimised for target keywords
  • Blog content is topical and relevant and actively showcases our client
  • Present reports of the success and effectiveness of measures taken to maximise exposure to the marketing team and wider sections of the business
  • Keep up-to-date with recent developments in SEO and ensure that this is shown in our client’s method of SEO

Requirements of the SEO Manager:

  • Have equivalent to 5 GCSEs and 3 A levels. Education to degree level is desirable
  • An excellent knowledge of SEO practice with experience in the field that has been proven to be effective
  • An understanding of how to use SEO tools such as Screaming Frog, Majestic, Moz and SEMrush
  • Confidence in taking own initiative and prioritise workload dependent on the variety of projects
  • Experience in writing differing modes of digital media outlets; blogging, social media, infographics etc. with a basic knowledge of digital media practices
  • Comfortable with adapting various writing styles to suit accordingly with the audience or the brand’s tone
  • Work confidently with other departments
  • Previous experience of working in an e-commerce role with an experience in particular software tools e.g. Hotjar, Google Analytics, VWO etc.
  • Passionate about all things digital and not afraid to ask questions!
  • Has a ‘can do’ attitude and doesn’t settle for second best
  • Open to new challenges and taking on new methods rather than sticking to the ‘done thing’
  • Will create excellent bonds with the customer by always putting themselves in their position and ensuring there is an element of reliability between the two parties
